This is me.

Before.

Before April 22, 2010 when I was given the diagnosis of Colon Cancer.

I went on vacation with my girlfriend, Anna. We went to Vegas and enjoyed the sun, some shopping, and each others company. We took a road trip. We saw the light show on Freemont street.

We had fun trying to get a good picture of ourselves. We saw amazing scenery!!!

Little did I know what awaited me at home when I returned. That story is coming. I am just putting this blog together, so give me a few days to gather my thoughts....but remember this,

Live in the moment; Plan for the Future!

I agree... this is great Dani~ I look forward to reading more. I am so thankful for our wonderful memories of our time together in Philly. So young~ being Nannys. Trips to Philly, South Street, Zoo, Virginia Beach. So many great memories. I am thankful to God for those memories shared with you and Jolanda, Lisa, Lori, and Sonda.

Me then, Me now!

I never thought of myself as a fighter. Someone who needed to fight for what she really wanted or needed. Things in my life were never that difficult. No, I haven't led a charmed life. haha, no way, but things just never seemed too hard to obtain or get through.
Until April 22, 2010! That day, I became a fighter. I fight now for my life. I fight for day to day normalcy. I fight to feel "normal".
April 22 I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer. After weeks of waiting, and testing, we found out I am in stage IV. Statistically speaking the prognosis for this isn't good.
So here I am, writing this new blog as a way to journal, vent, remember, heal, and share. Whether you just want to stay with me on this journey, or are looking for healing yourself please feel free to read my posts and make comments.

I love it.

And the picture above is one of the house that built ME. The back is an addition done by current owners, and there used to be a closed in porch where deck is now, but the basic body of the house is the same.

If I could come in ,

Won't take nothin but a memory.

From the house that built me.

My mom raised us in this house,

My Dad picked us up and brought us home to this house,

My grandparents visited every Christmas Eve at this house,

My Granny came in spring to help plant flowers at this house,

We mowed the lawn,

played in the lawn,

Kept a horse in backyard,

Tried growing a garden,

Hung a hammock between some trees,

Slept on hot summer nights in the hallway upstairs to get the

best the whirring fan had to offer.

Until my Dad sent me this picture I really hadn't

given much thought to all the memories I have from this

house that built me. Now I think about them everytime I

hear the Miranda Lamburt song.
