Anyone seen any good movies lately? Any GREAT ones? Sherlock Holmes 2 was really good. The Help was good. War Horse was really good. I love a good movie. I don't like the cost of going to a good movie. Despite this cost, I VOW to enjoy myself when I got to see The Vow on the 10th with my hubby. My mom will be in town ( have treatment the 8th) so we have a babysitter. I don't know if I vow to not eat the popcorn, though the way my mouth feels will more than likely interfere with consuming more than two bites.
I am not looking forward the treatment and the tiredness after, but am SO looking forward to the movie night. John and I need to Vow to go on more dates. Lately a date for us is sitting next to each other on the couch and watching the news and then Jay Leno after DAmon is in bed. wooo hooo, makes for real blood pumping romance....Not! hahaha
I recently made reservations for us to go the Wyndam resort in New Braunfels Texas in August. We need to get away. It will be hot, but that's ok, we plan on going to Schlitterbahn, the waterpark, where we can cool down. I can't wait to go!
What movies have you seen lately?
What dates have you been on?
Where do you like to vacation?
I vow to read your responses. :)
Wow, Ken would never ever go see The Vow with me- not in a million years, you are one lucky gal!! We have done a few cross country ski dates that were really fun and cheap:) We vacation in Alyeska because I hate to fly-really hate it~
ReplyDeleteOh how I LOVE to go to see a movie at the theater but we only go once or twice a year for the same reason you give here so it makes it EXTRA special. We recently saw "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo". It's a really dark movie but we loved it.
ReplyDeleteWe sometimes will just stop someplace to share a meal. I literally mean "share" it. We've discovered we are happier both with not overeating and in our pocketbooks when we share a hamburger or an entree at Panda Express. In the summer, we like to pack a picnic lunch and go somewhere with it.
We look at every weekend as a little mini-vacation and we get 52 of those every year. When I was off this summer, we made it a point to go visit different buildings around town that we've driven past but never went inside. I'll bet you have a few of those where you live. Make it fun by taking your camera with you and snapping a pic or two and share it with us! I vow to keep reading your blog and sending you my best thoughts!
Hi Dani,
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to the movies in months.. the last movie I saw was Cars 2 with my grandson.. I really need another grandson date.. I want to share with you a story of inspiration though.. At the end of this is the short version of another of my cousin's "C" story.. You HAVE to be positive that you WILL be here for Damon, Kali, John and the rest of us goofballs! You are not going anywhere soon! I am sending POSITIVE vibes, thoughts, prayers.. protons, neutrons and whatever else it takes! I know that you will never stop fighting this SH#*t and you CAN be victorious! Believe! Just believe!
My cousin Michael's story..
Michael was first diagnosed with throat cancer back in 2009. Michael is strong willed and will beat this cancer. His fight got more serious this week when he went into surgery to remove a small tumor from his throat. During that surgery they found more cancer than they were expecting, and they had to remove the larynx in it's entirety. For the time being Michael is left without a voice. He is recovering in the hospital and gaining his strength to go back into surgery here in a few weeks to remove additional cancer from the cartilage in his throat. His wife Janice has been by his side everyday giving him strength and encouragement to get to the other side of this awful situation.
Following this surgery Michael should be Cancer free.
Michael has been an inspiration at the hospital by being released after just 11 days.. he can now eat whatever he wants and everyone there says his recovery is solely based on his attitude! I am so proud of him and I am so proud of you! You have fought this for a long time and it must be so hard to keep fighting but you MUST! Michael and I are sending you all the positive energy in the universe!
Danielle.. I love you, miss you, and pray for your recovery every day! YOU CAN, YOU CAN, YOU WILL!
Thank you so much for your comments. Do I know you? I appreciate your story...and positive attitude. I am trying my best. Each day is different. It all depends on how i feel physically. lol keep reading. thanks!!!

DeleteHi this is Michael, I wanted to share one of the biggest reasons for my success. I never once fought against the cancer, its a battle for the wrong thing. I instead have been fighting to be in perfect health. I have focused every ounce of my being on the healthy cells that I do have and their ability to overcome the few sick ones. We have these amazing bodies that know how to heal itself. When you cut yourself you put a bandaid on, and not once do you consider whether your body can heal it, it just does. You need that same conviction now more than ever. I live for today and look for what I can be grateful for. Today I learned that I will be able to eat anything I want, only one week after learning to swallow again with my new reconstructed throat. I know in my heart of hearts that you will be fine because you want to be. You can do this!
ReplyDeleteWith all my love and support, Michael
Thank You Michael!.. My other "Cuz"! We are family! I got ALL my sistas with me!..!
Deletebattling for "perfect" health is a great goal. I am currently thinking of doing a three day wheat grass fast. keep at it. the body is aMazING!!!! Blessings to you and the best of luck with your battle. DAni
